Indian head massage is a holistic treatment that has evolved from traditional techniques practised in India as a part of their family rituals for thousands of years.
The traditional art of Indian head massage is based on the ancient system of medicine called Ayurveda, which has been practised for thousands of years in India. After a consultation, to adapt the treatment to your specific needs, I will generally massage the shoulders, upper back, arms, hands, neck, head, scalp and face with a variety of massage techniques and I will stimulate specific pressure points on the head, face, and neck to promote relaxation, stimulate energy flow and balance the body's energy.
WHAT TO EXPECT DURING AN INDIAN HEAD MASSAGE?
This treatment is done seated on a chair to create an energy flow.
The massage can be done with clothes on and no oil or by removing clothes from the shoulders and upper back to allow work with oils which is recommended for added benefits and for a more luxurious and multisensory experience.
After a consultation, to adapt the treatment to your specific needs, I will generally massage the shoulders, upper back, arms, hands, neck, head, scalp and face with a variety of massage techniques and stimulate specific pressure points on the head, face and neck to promote relaxation, revive energy flow and balance the body's energy.
I use a selection of oils such as organic olive oil, grapeseed oil, sesame oil, mustard seed oil, almond oil and coconut oil to address your specific needs.
To maximize the benefits of the treatment, it is recommended that your hair and scalp are clean, free of styling products such as hairspray, mousse or gel that could interfere with the massage.
To allow a better relaxation and ease of movement, it is recommended to wear comfortable, loose clothing.
