Sophrology offers a holistic approach to alleviating stress and promoting mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing.
The practice of Sophrology helps clear the mind, deeply relax and ground the body in order to access a state of inner calm. Starting by focusing on the body, you will discover techniques to get rid of inner tension, be grounded and fully present to the here and now. By relaxing your body, you will allow your mind to quiet down, allowing you a better control over your emotions and access a state of inner calm.
You will also learn to concentrate on the mind, to contemplate and to let go of negativity, limiting beliefs and anything that is holding you back. You will progressively develop your intuition, self-confidence and self-esteem. Subsequently, by directing your awareness towards the interaction of the mind and body, you improve self-awareness, inner harmony and inner balance. You learn to reconnect to your inner self, to be aligned to your existential values and to be more in tune with yourself and with the world around you.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING A SOPHROLOGY SESSION?
During a Sophrology session, you can expect a calming and personalised experience focused on relaxation, mindfulness, and body awareness.
We will start the session with an initial discussion to assess your specific needs and establish your goal.
I will then guide you through specific exercises such as:
Breathing Exercises: You will be guided through simple, soothing breathing techniques designed to calm the nervous system, reduce stress, and improve mental clarity.
Gentle Movement & Body Awareness: The session may include gentle movements or stretches to release physical tension and help you become more aware of your body’s sensations.
Relaxation & Visualisation: Through guided relaxation and visualisation exercises, you will be encouraged to focus on positive images, affirmations, or peaceful scenarios that promote emotional balance.
Mindfulness Practices: You will practice mindfulness techniques, learning to stay present in the moment and manage your thoughts and emotions more effectively.
Each session is tailored to your individual needs, providing you with tools to manage stress, enhance wellbeing, and foster a greater sense of calm and balance.
We usually practice Sophrology sitting or/and standing with eyes closed to focus inside. However if closing your eyes is not comfortable for you, you can half close them. If the standing or sitting position is unpleasant, you can also practice lying down.
At the end of the session, there will be a brief reflection, allowing you to share your experience and discuss how to integrate the techniques into your daily life.
I will suggest some exercises for you to practice at home, on your own time. Your daily practice doesn't have to be long, you can start with anything between 2 to 20 mins. A regular practice is advised to fully integrate the techniques in your lifestyle and see lasting improvements.
Through the sessions, you will develop, at your own pace, a deeper understanding of yourself, you will discover your body wisdom and explore your feelings and values helping you to reconnect with your true self and live a more meaningful and fulfilling life.
